COPE

Sponsors: Victoria Benoit

COPE (also called TRIO) is a program that helps students plan and prepare for college. It supports students from middle school all the way through college.

The goal of the program is to help students overcome challenges that might make it harder to attend college, such as financial difficulties or being the first in their family to go to college. It mainly serves students from low-income families, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities.

COPE/TRIO offers tutoring, mentoring, counseling, help with college applications, and guidance about paying for college. The name “TRIO” comes from the first three programs that started in the 1960s to support students in reaching their college goals.
