Principal's Message

Welcome to Pineville Junior High School!

With over two decades of experience in education, Dr. Susan Dewees is honored to serve as the new principal of Pineville Junior High. Known for her inclusive approach, collaborative spirit, and unwavering focus on excellence, Dr. Dewees is excited to join a school community that values relationships, high expectations, and student success.

She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on school improvement and systems change.  Her leadership experience spans district-and school-level roles, including Special Education Director, Middle School Principal, and District Supervisor.  She also teaches future educators at the university level, helping prepare the next generation of teachers to meet the needs of all learners.  Her leadership philosophy is rooted in high expectations and the belief that students thrive when schools prioritize strong relationships, meaningful academic challenge, and a true sense of belonging.

Under her leadership, PJH will continue its proud tradition of academic excellence while building on its strengths as a dynamic, supportive, and high-achieving school community. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth, Dr. Dewees is committed to helping every student thrive and achieve.
